With BAKKIE Studio TOIMII explored the boundaries of porcelain as a material and the craftsmanship of its production.

Combining a digital modeled design with precise craftsmanship, the straight, detailed design holds a natural feel to it. The detailed design, with its refined edges and characteristic groove, demands a skilled hand and lots of patience. To reassure consistency of all details, 3D printed models are used for the porcelain moulds to make production feasible.

The partly glazed, partly unglazed, coloured porcelain creates a contrast of textures and feels distinct in use, both visually and in use. Inspired on the Dutch coast, the colours of BAKKIE create a warm and well-balanced palette. The developed colour scheme make it possible to combine a personal collection in simplicity or in variety.

Every single piece of the BAKKIE tableware series is made by hand with great care by HUSK Ceramics in Utrecht, The Netherlands. All items are dishwasher, oven and microwave safe. This makes the tableware practical and durable. Whether you are doing a BAKKIE at the table or in the kitchen. Both in domestic and in commercial use.

In Dutch a ‘bakkie’ is a no-fuss type of cup of coffee.
